WESTFIELD – As they clean out closets, sort items, pack boxes, and begin the process of saying good-by to their 40 Main Street address, the Westfield Council on Aging made the ordeal less tedious and lots more fun by holding a ‘Wacky Tacky, Clearance Special, Last Hurrah Luncheon’ on Thursday, September 24.
Excess napkins, tablecloths, and plastic utensils and dishes from assorted holidays and special events were available.
Participants feasted on the famous meatloaf, garlic mashed potatoes, and glazed baby carrots dinner, made for the last time in the Center’s teeny-tiny kitchen.
COA Principal Clerk and baker extraordinaire, Carol Shannon, made her delicious homemade apple pie for dessert and Sandy promised ice cream to make it an ‘a la’ mode’ treat.
Not to be outdone by her staff, Tina asked an old high school friend, Kim Kalman, to venture up to New England from the Outer Banks to perform with her trusty guitar.
