Southwick- Weatherly Lynn (Szczepanik) Cowhey, 41 yrs. old, (1976-2018) passed away at home unexpectedly, on January 15, 2018. She had a kind heart and especially loved animals and rescued and raised many wild creatures from wild turkeys and chicken hawks, to donkeys and dogs and cats. Weatherly especially loved horses and had many throughout her life. She worked with her father for many years at Quarry Truck and Landscape Supply, in Southwick; up until Lily was born when she decided to stay home and raise her and take care of the farm. Weatherly was born in West Suffield, and had been a resident of Southwick for the past 17 years. She leaves her husband Tom Cowhey, her daughter Lily Cowhey, both of Southwick; her step daughter Emma Cowhey, of Westfield; her father Walter Szczepanik, of West Suffield; her mother Susan (Case) Stolzenberg, of Southwick; her sisters Wendy Albino of FL., Wells Szczepanik Lindeland and Welby Szczepanik, both of West Suffield. She was pre-deceased by her brother Wayne Szczepanik. She leaves many cousins .nieces, nephews and friends as well as her faithful dog, Bella; and her prized horse, Hoss.
The family will gather from 1:00PM – 4:00PM and receive friends on Sunday (January 21, 2018) in the Southwick Forastiere Family Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, (Highway 10/202). A funeral home ceremony will follow. In lieu of flowers, you may honor Weatherly’s memory by making a memorial contribution to any animal shelter of your choosing.
