WESTFIELD – Due to the annual Run Westfield event taking place this coming Saturday, May 19, several streets in the city will experience closure.
Please note that Elm Street will be closed from Franklin Street to Court Street from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on Saturday. This is due to the post race block party event. The span of Elm Street from School St to Court St. is expected to re-open by 3pm.
Run Westfield begins at Westfield State University’s South Lot and heads east on Western Avenue into downtown where the course turns north on Elm Street with the finish line located in the vicinity of Park Square Realty.
There will be short term intersection closures along the route during the race.
Message boards will be out in the Western Ave/Court Street area to notify those that travel and live in the area about the closure. The same message boards will be moved to Elm Street area by mid/end of day Friday to get additional reminder notification out about the Elm Street closure and no parking.
