WESTFIELD – In the wake of Hampshire College’s decision to remove the American flag from their campus, MA State Representative John Velis (D-Westfield) became a leader in the fight to oppose the decision made by Hampshire College President, Jonathan Lash, when he sent a letter last Tuesday, November 22nd demanding that the flag be put back immediately.
The letter has received attention from news outlets all over the country, from his hometown in Westfield, MA to outlets in Virginia, Los Angeles, and beyond.
Velis was also a featured speaker at the peaceful demonstration outside Hampshire College on Sunday.
Now, as the issue gains even more attention, the Representative will take his cause to the national media in an interview with Fox and Friends on Tuesday, November 29th, at 6:20 AM. The interview will happen live in the New York City studios and broadcast nationwide.
