WESTFIELD – The city announced on Friday that trash pick up will continue again on Saturday.
There are currently two trash trucks out of service causing extra hours on the remaining vehicles and longer days for the staff. That, in combination with last week’s snow storm and the upcoming holiday on Monday, trash pick up will continue to be delayed.
Officials are urging residents to put barrels out on the assigned day and leave them there until they are emptied. The goal is to reach homes as scheduled but delays may happen.
It is expected that additional truck support will be arriving the week of January 22nd to alleviate some of the delays enabling the city to get back on schedule.
