Westfield – Wilfredo Sanchez,64, passed away Friday at home surrounded by his loving family. Wilfredo was born January 7, 1952 in
Puerto Rico, son to the late Angel and Luz Maria (Soto) Sanchez.
Wilfredo was a native to Brooklyn, New York until he proudly joined and served his country in the United States Army, making it to the rank of Sergeant. He worked for many years as a social worker since his true passion was helping people, not only in his professional career, but also his family and the people within
the community.
Wilfredo enjoyed the outdoors, anywhere from camping, fishing, kayaking, biking or just chopping wood for a fire or reading a good book. He also loved dancing and listening to music from when he was a kid growing up. At parties or events, Wilfredo was always the first one on the dance floor making him the life of the party. Wilfredo was also a firm believer in lifelong education and always pushed his family to strive for more to better themselves.
Wilfredo is survived by his three loving daughters Ann Marie Sanchez, Lou Marie Sanchez, and Ashley Marie Sanchez all of Westfield. He was the cherished grandfather to Brandon, Brianna, Jonathan, Sierra, Sean, Sofia, Seth and great grandfather to Karlie. He leaves behind his beloved companion Barbara Moulton. He will be greatly missed by several nieces, nephews, and many more whose life he touched. Calling hours for Wilfredo will be Wednesday from 4-7PM with a Funeral Home Service to follow at 7PM at WESTFIELD FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION, 4 PRINCETON STREET, WESTFIELD.
