WESTFIELD – William C. Cook, 87, of Westfield died Saturday in the Holyoke Soldiers Home. Born in Westfield, he was a 1943 graduate of Westfield Trade High School, and was an Army Veteran of WWII, becoming a Staff Sgt. at the age of eighteen.
He was a co-owner of Westfield Fuel Company for many years with long time friend and partner, Mike Morris. He was also a Plumbing Inspector for the Town of Southwick for over twenty years.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jean (Hansen) Cook; a son, Eric and his wife Deborah of Montgomery; a brother, Raymond and a sister, Alice Dawicki both of Westfield, and a favorite nephew, Edwin “Skip” Larrabee of Montgomery. William also leaves three grandsons, Brendan, Tyler, and Sean. He was predeceased by a son, David in 1979.
Calling hours will be held at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield on Thursday, August 30, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Pine Hill Cemetery in Westfield.
