EASTFORD, CT – William R. Tefts, 88, (1935-2023) passed away on Sunday, October 29th, 2023 at the Suffield House in Suffield, CT. He was born in Westfield, MA to the late William and Anne (Gogol) Tefts. He was employed for many years as a maintenance supervisor at HB Smith and National Metal Industries before he retired. He enjoyed animals, the outdoors, hiking and gardening. He was in the Air National Guard and was involved in the Berlin Airlift. He was a devoted husband, father and friend.
He was predeceased by his wife, Rose (Piedra) Tefts in 2009 and is survived by his loving children, Michael Tefts and his wife Miriam of Eastford, CT, Jill Tefts and her husband Volker Hoffmann of Jacksonville, FL and Lee Lavigne and her husband William of Southwick, his brother Richard Tefts and his wife Carol of Florida and two grandchildren, Devon and Dylan Lavigne.
His funeral will be held on Friday at 12 noon in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 60 Broad Street, Westfield, followed by burial in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Lockhouse Road, Westfield.
