WESTFIELD – Wilma M. “Billie” (Adams) Kenney, 85, (1932-2017) passed away at home on December 14, 2017 after a short illness. She was born in Montpelier, VT to the late Clarence and Resa (Hewitt) Adams. She married Thomas F. Kenney, Jr. on April 11, 1953. Billie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, summers in Ocean Park, Maine and traveling with her husband throughout the US. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Westfield and the Prayer Shawl Ministry, and was an avid and accomplished knitter and enjoyed making items for her family. She also was a life member of the Westfield Chapter of the Jaycee-ettes, member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and longtime employee of Flip’s Variety Store in Westfield. Billie was predeceased by her husband Thomas F. Kenney, Jr., a daughter Donna Kenney, a brother John Adams and a sister Arline Sullivan. She is survived by her five children, David Kenney and his wife Beth of Easthampton, Diane Lamberton and her husband Neal of Springfield, Kevin Kenney and his wife Susan of Springfield, Karen Orell of Westfield and Linda Lenston and her husband Larry of Westfield; her four cherished grandchildren, Ellen Orell, Emily Orell, Zoe Lenston and Thomas Lenston.
Her family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Baystate VNA and Hospice, Marie, Annie, Kelly, Peter and Ann Hart for their constant care and concern, and her lifelong friend and neighbor Ann Mello for her support.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, at 9:30AM from the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St., Westfield, followed by a Mass at 10:30AM in St. Mary’s Church, Bartlett St., Westfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd., Westfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4-6PM in the funeral home.
