WESTFIELD-Since mid-January, actors have been rehearsing “tirelessly” to ensure that the spring Westfield Theatre Group musical is a hit with audiences.

“Singin’ in the Rain” will be staged April 13, 14, 20, 21, 27 and 28 at the Westfield Woman’s Club on Court Street. The Westfield Theatre Group is a department of the Westfield Woman’s Club.

“Singin’ in the Rain is a must-see production for several reasons,” said producer Meagan Farrell. “It’s a classical show that is very well known throughout generations. Also, our cast and crew have been working tirelessly to put on a fabulous show for our community.”

Farrell is sharing the role of producer this spring with Joanne O’Donoghue.

“I have produced a show before and Joanne wanted to learn how this process works,” said Farrell. “As a community theatre we welcome involvement from anyone who is willing to learn.”

Farrell noted that she and O’Donoghue have individual duties and are working on some aspects of the production together.

“It really is a team effort,” said Farrell, adding she produced last spring’s production of “Nice Work If You Can Get It” for the Westfield Theatre Group.

Farrell and O’Donoghue are joined on the production team with Drew Gilbert, artistic director; George Garber, Jr., music director; Caitlin Odell, choreographer, and stage managers Hillary Wildman and Jordan Gawron.

Cast members include Spencer Reese, Rowan Healey, Shealyn Berube, AJ Berube, Henry DiNapoli, Stephanie Gilbert, John Farrell, David Leslie, Seana Lamothe and Julia Chipkin.

Ensemble members include Carol Cisek, Kelsey Collis, Evan Garber, Jacob Gilbert, Krista Krupa, Seana Lamothe, Courtney Lyons, Eric Macksoud, Adam Malmborg, Ryan Peloquin, Hannah Robinson, Sophie Stevenson, Ben Velevitch and Isabelle Williams.

“WTG is unique because we are truly a community theatre,” said Farrell. “We have people participating from various locations in Western Massachusetts and Connecticut.”

Farrell added that seeing individuals collaborate from “all walks of life” is “amazing.”

“We all have the common goal of quality live theatre, and it is our team effort that helps to create that right here in Westfield,” said Farrell.
