Rosalia Pighetti

WESTFIELD-  Rosalia “Celina” Pighetti, 90, of Westfield passed away Monday, April 4, 2016. She was born in Baal, Belgium on December 22, 1925 to the late Nathalia Decime and Marcel Pelgrims. As a teenager, during the German occupation of Belgium she witnessed Hitler & Goring travel through the streets of her hometown. She hid from Nazi searches on the family farm in Baal. She immigrated to the United States as a war bride arriving in New York, NY in May 1946. She was fluent in French, Flemish and English and became a United States citizen in 1952. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. Celina enjoyed sewing and making needle point tapestries. She was employed at Old Colony Envelope Company retiring in 1974. She was predeceased by three siblings, Lourette, Renne, and Gaby, as well as her husband Attilio Pighetti. She is survived by her brother, Lucien Pelgrims of Duffel, Belgium, her sons, Donald C. Tryon Jr., his wife Linda and Karl Pighetti and his wife Donna, all from Westfield. Four grandchildren also survive her; Christopher Tryon and his husband Richard Ewest of Burnsville, Minnesota, Michael R. Tryon of Westfield, MA, Nicole Pighetti of Newport, RI and Shawn Pighetti of Westfield, MA, Survivors also include her two sisters in law, Mary Jemiolo and Esther Courtney, as well as many nieces and nephews.
