Westfield – Thelma Mae Healey (1930-2016) passed away peacefully on Christmas morning, 2016 at the home of her son James Healey, surrounded by her family. She was born on March 1, 1930 in Northhampton, Massachusetts. The daughter of John Francis Kowal and Catherine Callahan Kowal and sister of John, Kathleen, James, Barbara, and Theodore.
She was married to the love of her life Thomas Healey for 57 years and is survived by her two sons, Thomas Healey (Susan) and James Healey (Karen), and her brother Theodore Kowal. Grandma will be dearly missed by her six grandchildren, Thomas, Steven, Dylan, Ashton, Ella and Brianna Healey and other members of her loving family.
Thelma graduated from Westfield High School and spent her time taking care of her children and grandchildren and also worked for Oak Hill School for the Blind for over 10 years. She will be greatly missed by all who have known her. She touched the hearts and lives of so many who will never forget her. Visiting hours are at Firtion-Adams Funeral home in Westfield, MA on Friday, December 30 from 10:00 am – 11:30 am. Catholic services will be held at Blessed Sacrament in Westfield at 11:45 am followed by interment at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, MA at 1:00 am.
