WESTFIELD – Joanne A. (Malinowski) Janik, 78, passed away on January 19, 2020 at Baystate Noble Hospital. She was born in Westfield to the late Stanley F. and Helen C. (Tumidajewicz) Malinowski, was a 1959 graduate of St. Mary’s High School and IBM Business School in Springfield. She owned and operated Flowers By Joanne in Westfield for most of her life, worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for Pennock Florist and worked for over 20 years as an administrative assistant for the Human Resources for the City of Chicopee. Joanne was a communicant of Our lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Westfield, and she enjoyed flowers, gardening, floral design, snow shoeing and cross country skiing.
Joanne is survived by her beloved husband John J. Janik of Westfield, her sister, Mary H. Russell and her husband Robert, brother-in-law Robert Niemic, sister-in-law Dorothy Rogalski and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many dear friends. She was predeceased by two sisters, Helen Niemiec and Stacia Mazur and three brothers-in-law, Stanley Mazur, Frank Sypek and Joseph Rogalski.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, at 10AM from Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield followed by a Mass at 11AM in Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 127 Holyoke Rd. Westfield, followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd. Westfield. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7PM in the funeral home.
