WESTFIELD – Sylvia Sklarski, 95, passed away peacefully November 25th, 2023 surrounded by her loving family, due to complications from a recent stroke. Born in Westfield on February 17th, 1928, the daughter of Pauline (Maciorowski) and Felix Taudel. She married the love of her life Stanley Sklarski; they were married for 73 years and raised four children. Sylvia was a kind, caring, loving and giving person who will be greatly missed. She was a very special lady.
She was predeceased by her parents and all fourteen siblings.
She will be deeply missed by her loving family, husband Stanley, son Steven Sklarski (Robin), daughters Cindy Sklarski, Kathy Renaud (Todd), Karen King (Patrick) and grandsons Michael Sklarski (Tanya Curran), David Sklarski (Meghan Tessitore), a sister-in-law Dorothy Taudel and her granddog Benji, who followed and watched over her constantly. Sylvia also leaves many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Calling hours will be held Friday, December 1st, from 4–7 p.m. at Firtion Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. The Funeral will be held Saturday, December 2nd, 9 a.m. at the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church, 335 Elm Street, Westfield, followed by the burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
