6:07 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Union Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to be operated by a person with a suspended license, the car was towed to the police impound yard and the registration plates were seized for return to the Registry of Motor Vehicles;
10:12 a.m.: parking violation, Linden Avenue, a DPW representative reports a vehicle is parked in the roadway in violation of the snow emergency parking ban, the responding officer reports a city ordinance violation citation was issued, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard, a second vehicle also impeding snow removal operations was later towed on St. James Avenue;
10:51 a.m.: parking violation, Myrtle Avenue, a patrol officer reports a vehicle is parked in the roadway in violation of the snow emergency parking ban and a routine check revealed that the vehicle’s registration had been revoked for lack of insurance, a city ordinance violation citation was issued and the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
11:33 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Union Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle with registration revoked for lack of insurance, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
2:08 p.m.: annoying phone calls, The Willows Apartments, 19 Lockhouse Road, a resident reports via the online reporting option that she has been receiving annoying phone calls;
2:19 p.m.: fire, East Mountain Road, a caller reports a vehicle is on fire in front of Western Massachusetts Hospital, dual response dispatched, the responding officer reports the oil filler cap is missing and a rag which had been stuffed into the opening ignited, the fire was extinguished and the rag removed, the vehicle could not be driven due the risk of fire posed by the open oil port, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
3:14 p.m.: notification, Elm Street, the DPW was notified that the sidewalk adjacent to the vacant Newberry’s lot has not been cleared;
6:13 p.m.: vandalism, Park Street, a caller reports a window at her back door has been broken, the responding officer reports the caller said that the window had also been broken previously, the officer reports no breaking and entering or larceny was attempted, the caller does not require a formal report but wants the damage documented;
9:00 p.m.: animal complaint, Furrowtown Road, a caller reports there appears to be a dead coyote in the roadway, the responding officer reps the coyote cadaver was placed on the snowbank for removal in the morning, the director of animal control operations reports that the dead animal was the injured coyote which had been repeatedly reported to be in the area in the past few weeks;
10:09 p.m.: suspicious activity, Western Avenue, a caller reports she is begin tailgated by a vehicle which has followed her as she made random turns and detours, the emergency dispatcher continued to talk with the woman as she drove to the police station as instructed, the responding officer reports the suspect vehicle was stopped and he found that the incident was a road rage situation involved operators who were unknown to each other, both parties were sent on their separate ways.
