WESTFIELD: Anastacia T. (Trasko) Carlstrom, 90, passed away February 9, 2015 at Noble Hospital. She was born in Westfield to the late Anthony and Katarzyna (Plowna) Trasko and was a 1943 graduate of Westfield High School. After graduation she worked for Atty. Ely and then moved to Alaska where she was the secretary for the Naval Base Admiral on Kodiak Island. In 1953 she married Ward B. Carlstrom and they lived in Greece for 5 years and 2 years in South Carolina before returning to Westfield in 1961. She was an active member of the Church of Atonement, a member of St. Margaret’s Altar Guild, the 8 o’clock service and breakfast club, the Westfield YMCA and enjoyed spending time in her garden. She was a substitute administrator for South Middle School, was C.H.D. Program Administrator and retired in 2004. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ward B. Carlstrom in 2006, and is survived by her loving children, Stephen Carlstrom of Westfield, Gordon Carlstrom of New Boston, NH, Alexandra Khatchadourian and her husband Gabriel of Westfield, Sarah Carlstrom of Chesterfield and John Carlstrom of Seattle, WA, and her eight cherished grandchildren, Stacey Obi, Kelley Carlstrom, Alise Carlstrom, Sarah Carlstrom, Caitie Carlstrom, Jordan Carlstrom, Taleen Khatchadourian and Sevane Khatchadourian and many friends. Anastacia’s funeral service will be held on Friday at 10AM in the Church of Atonement, 36 Court St. Westfield. Burial will be private in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5-7PM in the church.
