WESTFIELD – On Saturday the YMCA of Greater Westfield hosted their 5th Annual Chili, Chowder & Chocolate Cook-off Fundraiser. The Westfield YMCA is pleased to announce that over 200 people attended the event to help raise over $2,500. Along with the Y’s Annual Campaign, the Westfield Police Department was this year’s beneficiary, to help raise funds for their Taser cartridges. This year, the People’s Taste Award for Best Chili went to the Westfield Rotary Club for their “C-Dawg” chili; Best Chowder went to Alessio’s Pizzeria and Mrs. Murphy’s Donuts won first place for chocolate. We thank all our local businesses and civic organizations that cooked for this event, our prize donors, plus the volunteers and all of our attendees. Once again, the community of Westfield has demonstrated how committed we are to helping each other.
