Hastie Fence fought hard against strong pitching from Moose Lodge, but could not muster much offense. Adam Blair pitched five innings and struck out two batters. Singles by Adam Blair in the first, Walter Nonotti in the second, Nate Podmore in the third, and Mason Barnachez in the fourth was the extent of the Hastie Fence offense. A strong effort against a hot Moose Lodge team from the boys from Hastie Fence.

Camfour 7, Hastie Fence 4
Pitchers Josh Mayo and Nate Podmore combined for ten strikeouts for Hastie Fence against Camfour. Hastie Fence started off strong with two runs in the first inning. A single by Nate Podmore, triple by Cody Collins, double by Adam Blair, and a single by Mason Barnachez pushed in those runs. After a scoreless second, Hastie Fence’s offense went to work again. A leadoff walk by Anthony Pighetti, double by Cody Collins, and a double by Adam Blair pushed across two more runs for Hastie in the third. Unfortunately, Camfour netted two runs in the second, three in the third, and two in the fifth for a 7-4 lead. In the fourth inning, Walter Nonotti’s double and a walk from Josh Mayo was the only offense. After a scoreless fourth and fifth inning, Hastie fought hard in the sixth. Ethan Baush’s single started it off, but it was not to be. Another strong team effort from the boys from Hastie Fence with solid pitching, defense, and offense.

Hastie Fence 9, Air Compressor Engineering 3
Hastie Fence put another notch in the win column tonight against a tough opponent in Air Compressor Engineering. Hastie’s Adam Blair started off the pitching and allowed two runs with two strikeouts in two innings of work. Down 1-0 in the first, Hastie’s batters went to work. Nate Podmore started it off with a single. Cody Collins, hit by pitch, took one for the team. Then, singles by Mason Barnachez, Josh Sturmer, and Walter Nonotti helped score four runs for Hastie Fence. After allowing one run in the second and one run in the third, the score was 4-3 in Hastie’s favor. Hastie Fence exploded for four more runs in the third to go up 8-3. Singles by Nate Podmore and Cody Collins started it off. A double by Mason Barnachez, single by Walter Nonotti, and a single by Ethan Baush gave Hastie Fence a little cushion. Patrick Callahan’s single was the only offense of the fourth inning. Josh Mayo pitched four innings allowing one run with six strikeouts. In the fifth inning, Cody Collins and Mason Barnachez both singled allowing Hastie to push across one more run. Josh Mayo finished off the game and Hastie Fence netted the 9-3 win. Excellent team win, Hastie!

Green Meadow Lumber 8, Tucker’s Restaurant 6
Despite a strong effort by Tucker’s Restaurant, they fell to Green Meadow Lumber with a final score of 8-6. Green Meadow Lumber’s pitching was tough to compete with, as they only allowed one run in each of the first four innings. Lead hitters for Tucker’s Restaurant were Andrew Bruno with three singles, Tucker Carey with one single, and Brendon Morse with a double. Ted Dunn, Zachariah Gravel-Blaney, and Bruno led Tucker’s offense, each with an RBI. Although Green Meadow Lumber’s offense was strong, Tucker’s pitcher, Connor Niemiec, recorded 6 K’s. Defensive highlights for Tucker’s were noted in the first and third innings. In the first, Nathan Pudlo, playing first base, caught a fly ball which resulted in the first out. Catcher, Carey, then squeezed a foul tip for the second out. With Carey’s quick feet, he was then able to reach a passed ball while pitcher, Dunn, covered home plate. The combined effort made the last out of the inning. The third inning proved to be strong as well. Center fielder, Michael Dorunda, showed off his strong arm, as he backed up second base and made a perfect throw to home plate. Catcher, Pudlo, was able to make the tag and save a run. This brings Tucker’s Restaurant’s record to 8-5.

Fenway Westfield 8, King Pest Control 6
Fenway Westfield scored four runs in the fourth inning and held King Pest Control scoreless in the final three innings to win a close 8-6 ballgame. Sullivan Donohue led the way for King Pest Control with three solid innings of pitching with six strikeouts. He also had a hit, a walk and scored two runs. Jayden Santiago had a two-run first inning double and Brandon Kingsley had two hits, and RBI, a stolen base, and a run scored. Alejandro Rogers went 1-2 with a walk and a run scored for King Pest Control.

Specialty Bolt 15, Tucker’s Restaurant 8
It was a tough last regular season game for Tucker’s Restaurant as they were defeated by Specialty Bolt and Screw by a score of 15-8. Tucker’s players, Andrew Bruno, Mateo Reyes, Ted Dunn, Connor Niemiec, Nathan Pudlo, Tucker Carey, Ethan Thompson, and Brendon Morse all crossed the plate. Lead RBI hitters were Morse with two and Pudlo and Thompson each with one. This brings Tucker’s record to 8-6 to end the regular season.

Westfield Police 1, Dunkin Donuts 0
Westfield Police used strong pitching by Grace Leduc and Mia Tavares to win a 1-0 hard fought game. It was Police’s fourth shutout of the season. Leduc got her first start and made the most of it pitching three scoreless innings on route to the win. Tavares came in and pitched two sterling innings herself to notch her third save of the season. On offense the only run of the game came in the first inning when Willa Haskins drove in the run with a bases loaded walk. Leduc and Tavares each contributed two hits to pace the offense including a double for Tavares. Allie Stucenski also chipped in with a hit for Police. In the end the strong pitching propelled Police to the win and improved their record to 5-1-1. – Courtesy of Westfield Little League
