Staying atop the standings in our weekly pro football contest, “Beat ‘The Putz’”, has been something of a challenge this season. Not so for one local resident.
Brian Boldini, of Westfield, clawed his way through a crowded field of winning entries to the top with an impressive 11-1 record in Week 8.
Boldini would not offer up his winning formula, but rather shared his enthusiasm for participating.
“I just enjoy playing,” Boldini said. “This is a nice service that (The Westfield News) offers, and adds interest to the game. It makes watching games all the more interesting.”
There are more intriguing matchups on tap this Sunday when Aaron Rogers and the Green Bay Packers travel to North Carolina to take on the unbeaten Panthers, Big Ben and the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Oakland Raiders, and the still perfect Denver Broncos invade Indianapolis, where Andrew Luck attempts to shed his recent misfortunes.
The undefeated New England Patriots host the Washington Redskins. Our Sunday night tiebreaker pits Demarco Murray and the Philadelphia Eagles against his former team, the Cowboys, in “Big D”.
