4:22 a.m.: breaking and entering a motor vehicle, Western Circle, woman reported that her husband caught someone trying to steal from her car, the suspect took off towards Westfield State, cash was stolen from vehicle, suspect’s description given to WSU police;
11:52 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Road at Long Pond Road, Anthony Colon, 28, 31 of Daniel St., Springfield, arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle with license suspended subsequent offense and motor vehicle lights violation;
12:35 p.m.: accident, 167 Western Ave. at 1 Lloyds Hill Road, 2007 Honda (towed) and 2004 Dodge Durango, no injuries;
1:41 p.m.: breaking and entering a motor vehicle, Stop & Shop Supermarket, 57 Main St., while a woman was sitting in her car, a man opened the passenger side door, stole her purse and ran off;
4:09 p.m.: accident, 70 Russell Road at 16 Berkshire Drive, 1997 Nissan (towed) and 2003 Hyundai, no injuries;
4:47 p.m.: accident, Pochassic Street at North Elm Street, tractor trailer took out a traffic light, Westfield Gas & Electric notified that the light was snapped at the base and was hanging down at 45 degree angle, no injuries;
5:14 p.m.: accident, Big Y, 475 E. Main St., party reported being hit by a motorist while walking in the parking lot at Big Y, under investigation;
5:40 p.m.: officer wanted, Princeton Street, woman reported going upstairs to ask her neighbor to turn down the music and the neighbor punched her in the face, victim declined medical treatment;
8:20 p.m.: vandalism, Wyben Road, resident reported that their mailbox was run over.
