Just a correction to the Arch article: The Keystone Arches are presently undergoing the nomination process for National Historic Landmark status, through the National Park Service. Public Archeology Laboratory (PAL) is the firm we hired to write the nomination. Nominations must be prepared by PhD’s, who are experts in the field, like bridge building, railroad engineering, etc. It is a 3 year process. For illustration, there are 60,000 sites on the Historic Register. There are only 2,500 Historic Landmarks.
