An interesting but quiet day for Westfield Police.
12:46 p.m.: Breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, Elm Street. Police received a report from a walk-in to the police station that his vehicle was broken into and his bicycle was stolen. According to police, the bike was in the vehicle and they had no suspects or leads at the time of the report.
4:55 p.m.: Car on fire, East Main Street. Police reported that a 2005 Mercedes CLK55 was found on fire. A police officer arrived on scene and attempted to put out the fire with an extinguisher, but was unsuccessful. Westfield Fire Department was able to put out the fire a short time after. Police said that the fire was of an unknown origin and there were no injuries or additional property damage.
7:18 p.m.: Annoying phone calls, Southampton Road. Police received a report from a resident regarding repeated threatening phone calls from an individual she knows. The police contacted the party accused of making the phone calls and discussed the matter with her, but no arrests were made at the time of the report.
