Southwick – Matthew Mark Gagnon, 28, of Southwick, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016. Matthew, known as Buzzy to most, leaves behind his mother Patrice (Dymes) Gagnon, his father Geoff Gagnon, his sister Kate Gagnon and his 2 sons Ryan & Mason Gagnon. He also leaves many close friends and family. Matthew was born on November 14, 1987, in Springfield, MA and grew up in Southwick. He attended Southwick Tolland Regional High School, graduating in 2006. Matthew spent time as a mechanic for both New Boston Crane Sled Shop and Tibby’s Harley Davidson before finding his love for cell phone tower work with his dad Geoff. When he wasn’t working, he could often be found in the garage with his buddies working on his Harley, snowmobile, dirt-bike or helping them fix one of theirs. If you couldn’t find them in the garage, they were out causing trouble somewhere! Matthew had a heart of gold with a smile that could brighten anyone’s day. He would be there to help anyone at the drop of a hat, no matter what time of day. He will be deeply missed by many.
The family will be hosting a celebration of Matthew’s life on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 from 4pm-8pm at the Southwick VFW, 151 Point Grove Rd, Southwick, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Matthew’s name to the Southwick Animal Shelter, 11 Depot St. Southwick, MA 01077.
