Westfield – Wanda Adamczenko, 87, (1929 – 2016) passed away Thursday at Baystate Medical Center. Wanda was born April 21, 1929 in Riplin, Poland to the late Adam and Olga (Hess) Fischer. Wanda moved to the United States at 21, and she loved this country. Wanda worked for over 25 years at Westfield State University before she retired. Wanda loved her family and her grandchildren the most. She was a great baker and cook, she made the best pierogi’s. She loved to crochet, knit and tend to her gardens. She was a believer in her faith, and was a member to St. Johns Church in Westfield. Wanda was predeceased by her loving husband Jan Adamczenko in 1998, her son Edward in 1994, and her daughter Jane Corbin in 2014. She is survived by her loving children Irene Provost and her husband Daniel of Westfield and Ellen Tinyszin and her husband Roman of E. Hartford, CT. She is the cherished Oma to Adam, Daniel, Alex and Great Oma to Faith. She leaves her sister to Helen of Germany, her sister-in-law Blanche of Southampton, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Leo, Henry, Bruno and John. Wanda will be missed by all who knew her. The funeral for Wanda will be private, and burial at the convenience of the family.
