7:48 a.m.: Accident, Little River Road. Police received a report of a two-car accident involving a 2002 Honda Accord and a 2004 Dodge Ram. Although no one was injured and airbags weren’t reportedly deployed, one vehicle did need a tow from the scene.
12:50 p.m.: Accident, North Elm Street. Police received a report of a two-car accident involving a 2012 Toyota Prius and a 2009 Honda Accord. No reported injuries and damage was reportedly minor.
3:11 p.m.: Accident, Southwick Road. Police received a report for a two-car accident involving a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta and a 2005 Toyota Camry. No injuries were reported on scene, but one vehicle did need a tow from the scene.
11:29 p.m.: Accident, Russellville Road. Police received multiple 911 reports of a one-car accident involving a 1998 BMW 528IA and a tree. Police initially received reports that the vehicle had struck the tree and rolled over, but police later said that there was no rollover. One caller reported that the top of the vehicle was sheared off and there may have been entrapment in the vehicle. Westfield Fire paramedics transported one patient to Baystate Medical Center due to injuries, while another person, a passenger named Justin Messier of West Springfield, was pronounced dead on scene.
