5:54 a.m.: Accident and arrest, Lockhouse Road and Buschmann Avenue. Police received a report from a passerby who told police there was a disabled vehicle near the intersection with a male nearby, and the vehicle appeared to have damage to it. Police arrived and found that the airbags were also deployed in the vehicle, and Westfield Fire paramedics and ambulance were requested at the scene. Alexis Soto-Besares, 35, of Worcester, was the male reportedly on scene. According to the police log, the ambulance crew left the scene after it was declared not needed, and Soto-Besares allegedly failed field sobriety tests. Police arrested Soto-Besares and charged him with operating under the influence of liquor and possession of open container of alcohol in motor vehicle.
12:12 p.m.: Accident, Walmart, Springfield Road. Police received a report of a two-vehicle crash involving a 2006 Subaru Legacy and a 2008 Ford Taurus. No injuries were reported but one vehicle had to be towed.
5:04 p.m.: Accident, Dry Bridge Road and Springdale Road. Police received a report of an off-road vehicle accident that occurred near the location given. Environmental Police were requested and were in charge of the scene, and one person was transported to Baystate Medical Center by Westfield Fire paramedics via ambulance.
8:09 p.m.: Breaking and entering, motor vehicle, North Cherry Street. Police received a report of a vehicle that was allegedly broken into and a cell phone stolen from the vehicle. There were no witnesses and police are investigating.
