State Sen. Humason responds to Governor’s State of the Commonwealth speech

BOSTON – “Working with the Baker-Polito Administration has been a breath of fresh air. The Administration has been engaged with and responsive to me and the 11 cities and towns I represent. Through Community Compact agreements and MassWorks grants, Governor Baker and Lieutenant Governor Polito have helped jumpstart key economic development initiatives that have the potential to revitalize my communities.

Communities in Western Massachusetts are finally nearing the day when they will have access to high speed internet thanks to this Administration

The Governor and Lieutenant Governor have been tireless in their commitment to address the opioid epidemic crisis in the state, supporting a wide array of prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts.

From implementing necessary reforms at DCF and the RMV to being fiscal watchdogs during unpredictable economic times, the Administration has made clear their expectation that state government acts responsibly and protects the taxpayers and businesses of the Commonwealth.

Governor Baker’s speech tonight highlighted some of that great work his team has been able to complete over the last three years and more, without losing sight of work still to be done and areas where we can improve as a state. I appreciate his leadership on these issues, and look forward to working towards solutions with the Administration and my colleagues in the Legislature.”
