Thank you for publishing Lori Szepelak’s excellent article on Monday, August 6, highlighting the benefits of the Westfield Farmers’ Market to the greater Westfield community. The Westfield Farmers’ Market appreciates the support the Market receives from the entire Westfield community and could not operate without it. Evidence of that support includes the grant from an anonymous donor who gave the money we use for the $5 match provided to SNAP customers every week, the grant money used to pay the musicians at the Market supplied by the Westfield Cultural Arts Council, and our staff who make the Market operate every week, over 33 people, 100% of whom are volunteers from the greater Westfield area. The Market would not be able to provide any of the benefits to the community identified in this article without the support of individuals and organizations like these, or the loyal customers who attend every week.
