SOUTHWICK – The Cultural Council is gearing up for their 20th Annual Art Exhibition which will take place at the Southwick Town Hall on April 27 and April 28.
The art exhibit usually features around 40 artists from Western Massachusetts, Northern Connecticut, and other areas that showcases fine arts like sculptures and pottery, as well as photography, oils, water colors, and woodcarvings.
Susan Kochanski, Chairperson of the Cultural Council, is always eager to see the types of art that is on display at the event.
“It’s always interesting to get a variety of different types,” said Kochanski. “The more unique an artist’s submission is, the more likely it will be accepted in the show.”
The Cultural Council also likes to see and encourage artists to come from all over the greater Southwick area.
“We’re not limiting ourselves to just Western Mass and Northern Connecticut,” said Kochanski. “But we like to see what people in our neighborhood are doing.”
Any interested artist can pick up an application to submit their art in the event at the Southwick Town Hall. One can also apply by downloading the application form on the Cultural Council website. The deadline to submit art for the exhibition is March 7. For any questions about the application or the art exhibition, contact Kochanski at 413-569-0946 or email [email protected].
