WESTFIELD – After a hugely successful World Series in Westfield in 2016 plans are being made now for another World Series in 2019. To provide an opportunity for local residents and baseball fans of all ages to enjoy the games, the Greater Westfield Babe Ruth League is offering discounted tournament passes for sale now through June 30.
World Series Family and Individual Tournament passes are on sale at discounted prices until June 30. Now is the time to step up to the plate to support the World Series by purchasing your tickets. There will be 25 games played in the World Series and these passes will provide admission for all games and special events.
The league is selling Family Tournament Passes for only $45. The family pass will admit two adults and two children into all the World Series games. Also on sale is a Single Tournament Pass for only $20. After June 30, the prices will increase to the regular prices of $60 and $25, respectively. Single-day admission tickets during the World Series will be $10.
Tickets can be purchased from any league player or by logging into the Babe Ruth World Series web site at www.WestfieldWorldSeries.com and placing your order. Tickets will be mailed to you. Tickets are also available for purchase and immediate pick up at the following locations: Cassin Insurance located at 104 Elm St., Westfield Bank branch located at 560 East Main St. (near Home Depot), and Westfield Bank branch located at 300 Southampton Road (Northside).
Plans are also in the works for a ticket sales blitz weekend to be held on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9 where Greater Westfield Babe Ruth players and coaches will be located at businesses throughout Westfield and Southwick offering World Series tickets at these discounted prices for sale. The Babe Ruth World Series planned for Bullens Field, August 7–15 will feature 10 teams from around the United States and Canada. The respective teams will be the eight Babe Ruth Regional Tournament Champions, Calgary, Alberta Canada (invited team) and our 13-year-old tournament team from Westfield.
Special events planned during the World Series include: a team skills competition (August 7 from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.), Opening Ceremonies (August 8, 6:30 p.m.), World Series Dedication to Kevin Sullivan – (August 9,6:30 p.m.), Special Recognition for past Westfield Babe Ruth World Series Teams from 1989, 1992, 2012 and 2014 (August 10, 6:30 p.m.), and Salute to Westfield Day (August 12, 6:30 p.m.)
