WESTFIELD – Looking for something to do with your sweetie, sis or best buddy this Valentine’s Day? There are numerous options for fun in Westfield and Southwick that won’t break the bank and can be enjoyed with family.
First, the Westfield Athenaeum is celebrating “Songs of Love” Feb. 13 with a free performance by the American Classics singing at 1 p.m. in the Lang Auditorium.
Also Feb. 13, local glass artist Hugh Naggar will showcase his craft at Blue Umbrella Books from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. where he will sell some of his one-of-a-kind glass art.
The Southwick Council on Aging is hosting a Valentine’s Day luncheon Feb. 14 featuring a homemade chicken dinner and incorporating a birthday party to include the months of December, January and February. Ice Cream will be provided by and served by representatives from Golden Years Homecare Services. We will begin serving lunch at 11:30 a.m. with ice cream social to follow. The cost of this event is $3.
The Westfield YMCA is hosting Lunch and Trivia on Feb. 14 at 11:45 a.m. Come along, socialize and have some fun testing your knowledge of love with famous movie/TV star couples on and off screen. The Team/Table with the highest score after five rounds wins the game prize. Form your own team of six or be seated randomly to fill a table. The cost is $7 and includes sandwich and soup.
On Feb. 14, DJ Shaggy will be rocking Amelia Park Ice Arena from 7-8:50 p.m. during a Valentine’s Skate. Cost is $7 for adults, $5 for children under 14 and adults 55 and older and military.
Many area restaurants have Valentine’s Day specials Friday, including Shortstop Bar & Grill in Westfield and Tucker’s Restaurant in Southwick.
