WESTFIELD – Arthur D. Stairs, 68, passed away at home on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. He was born in Presque Isle, Maine May 17, 1951. Art was a self-employed mechanic for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf and loved playing guitar with friends and at fairs in the hill towns. He was also a longtime member of the Italian Club. Art is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia (Desforge) Stairs, his loving sons, Jason J. Stairs and his wife Melissa of Agawam and Jeromy J. stairs and his wife Jennifer of Crystal Falls, Michigan, his cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Justin, Ryan, Taylor and Jordan. He also leaves his sisters, Jane Pierce and her husband Don of Westfield, Carla Kuza and her husband John of Agawam, Nicky Kilmer and her husband John of Alabama, Diane Stone and Elaine Cook, both of Indiana. He was predeceased by a brother Bruce Stairs.
A Memorial service will be held on Monday at 1 PM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, followed by burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley. A visiting hour will precede the service from 12-1 PM in the funeral home. www.firtionadams.com
