HYDE PARK, VT – Henry T. Walat, Jr., 82, passed away peacefully at his family’s home in Hyde Park, VT on April 16, 2020. He was born February 12, 1938 in Springfield, MA, the son of Henry T. Walat, Sr. and Annette Wosniak Walat. Henry married Barbara Ann McCearn and they were married 48 years. She predeceased him on February 13, 2018.
Henry was employed as a high school Chemistry Teacher for 34 years at Suffield High School in Suffield, CT. He was an avid fisherman, spending many of those days on Quabbin Reservoir with friends and family. Henry and Barbara moved to Vermont in 2011 from their long-time residence in Westfield, MA to be closer to their son. They enjoyed spending time with their grandsons whom they loved very much.
Henry is survived by his son, Henry T. Walat III and his wife, Miranda, their sons, Henry T. Walat IV and George C. Walat. He is also survived by his two brothers, Dr. Robert Walat and family of Longmeadow, MA and Eugene Walat and family of Chicopee, MA.
