Doris (Jubinville) Kurowski

WESTFIELD: Doris (Jubinville) Kurowski, 83, passed away at the Baystate Noble Hospital on October 2nd. Doris spent her final days surrounded, both physically and remotely, by many loving family members. Grandma was thrilled to experience her first Facetime, reminiscing with grandchildren. Doris and her husband Raymond, who predeceased her, were longtime residents on Susan Drive in Westfield since building their beloved home there in 1978.

Doris was born and grew up in Holyoke, graduating from Precious Blood High School and marrying Henry Horton. In addition to being a dedicated homemaker, Doris worked many years as a bookkeeper. Her favorite job by far, however, was her long tenure as hostess at Roma’s restaurant in Southwick. Right up until the end of her life, Doris was still speaking fondly about “her customers”.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Debra Horton, of Conway; son, Brian Horton, and his fiance, Tammy Wragg, of Westfield; step-sons, Michael Kurowski, and his wife, Tracey, of Cheshire, and Mark Kurowski, and his wife, Lynn, of Westfield, and her step-daughter, Lisa Voudren, of Westfield. Grandma K will be greatly missed by her 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her 2 sisters, 2 brothers and her parents, Lea and Lionel Jubinville.

A funeral mass will be Friday, October 9, 2020 at 11:30AM at the Blessed Sacrament Church, 127 Holyoke Road in Westfield, MA. Immediately following, a graveside service will be held at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Agawam, MA. Memorial donations may be directed to the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Springfield, MA
