SPRINGFIELD: John “Johnny” Michael Burkott, 28, (1993-2021) of Springfield, formerly Westfield, tragically passed away in a car accident on Tuesday, June 8, 2021.
Born in Springfield, MA on April 22, 1993, he was the adored son and true friend of Elizabeth (Collins) and Thomas Kwapien. He was a devoted Father to Aurora Burkott and a loving Partner of Tamari Streeter both of Springfield, MA. Devoted brother of Allie Burkott (Riccardo Racicot) of West Springfield, MA and Jennifer Burkott of Westfield, MA. Cherished Grandson of Ronald and Martha (Moylan) Collins and Alice (Aspinall) Burkott. He was a loved Nephew of Abby, Amie, Shelly, Sarah, R.J., and Patti, Cousin, and Friend to many.
Johnny fiercely loved all of his family. He was able to achieve his greatest dream of creating his own family. Johnny’s humorous and loving spirit and zest for life was contagious to all who knew him. He always stood up for the underdog and was a friend to all. Johnny had many interests including his love of music, biking, hiking, paddle boarding, skateboarding, and snowboarding. Johnny held a Firemen’s License and worked as a control operator at Smith College. He was raised in Westfield, MA and attended Westfield Public Schools. He was such a bright light in everyone’s lives and that light continues to shine through the legacy he left behind, his daughter. May we all remember Johnny as the loving father, partner, son, brother, and friend he was and strive to live life to the fullest, just as he did.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Firtion Adams Funeral Home on June 25, 2021, visiting hours are 4-7 PM and a blessing will be said at 7PM.
