WESTFIELD: Clare E. (Moore) Fouche, 97, died Sunday, February 13, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 28, 1924 to the late Thomas and Grace (Rondeau) Moore. She was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Parish. She attended St. Mary’s school and was a graduate of the class of 1941. Clare worked at St. Mary’s Elementary School for several years. She was also a member of the Senior Choir and the Confraternity of the Most Holy Rosary. Clare enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, traveling and was an avid fan of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She was a volunteer at the Salvation Army for 13 years. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially at Sunday lunches. In 2010 Clare received the St. Mary’s Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award.
Clare was predeceased by her husband Gerald J. Fouche and her sons Gerald T. Fouche, Peter J. Fouche and Paul F. Fouche. She leaves her children William M. Fouche and his wife Deborah, Michael J. Fouche and his wife Melissa, Timothy M. Fouche and his wife Joanne, Mary Lou Mihlek and her husband Charles, Elizabeth A. Fleming and her husband John, Michele Hart and her husband Andrew, her daughters-in-law Sharon Fouche and Deborah Fouche. Clare leaves behind her 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 19th, at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield from 8:30 am till 10:30 am. A funeral Mass will follow in St. Mary’s Church at 11 am. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
