WESTFIELD – Gwendolyn C. (Avery) Cornelius, of Westfield, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2022. She was born in Westfield, MA to the late Ernest and Gwendolyn (White) Avery. She was a graduate of Westfield High School and Westfield State University where she received a Bachelors in Business. She was employed as a Senior File Clerk at Old Colony Envelope retiring in 2011.
Gwendolyn was predeceased by her former husband Donald Cornelius, Sr. in 2002; a daughter Tami Budreau in 2019.
She is survived by her sons Donald Jr. (Vicki), Cory (Vicki), Thomas (Noella), and Steven, her daughters Arlene Burgos (Javier), Pamela Justin (Rob), Crystal Torres (Carlos), and Kymberli Zabielski (Richard), 23 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Gwendolyn was a very private person who devoted her entire life to her family.
Visiting Hours will be held Monday, October 10th at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St., Westfield, MA from 5-7 pm. A graveside service will be Tuesday, October 11th at 10:30 Pine Hill Cemetery, Westfield, MA. www.firtionadams.com
