WESTFIELD
Sunday, June 10, 2012
9:16 p.m.: unwanted guest, Van Deusen Apartments, 42 Arnold St., a caller reports an unwanted guest, the responding officer reports he encountered a male party outside who said that he had been drinking all day and an argument had developed with his girlfriend, the man put his hands behind his back and invited the officer to arrest him but when he was told he was being placed in protective custody the man became agitated and struggled to avoid emplacement of handcuffs, the man was subdued and transported to the station where he was agitated, disruptive, verbally abusive and subject to mood swings, the man said he wanted to harm himself and ran head first into the counter at full speed and nearly lost consciousness, the man struggled with officers and kicked and punched an officer attempting to restrain him, an electronic control device was employed and the man asked for more, the man was restrained in a chair, Joshua A. Wilcox, 28, of 42 Arnold St., was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer;

Monday, June 11, 2012
8:55 a.m.: larceny, Orange Street, a resident came to the station to complain that her daughter’s bicycle had been stolen, the responding officer reports the woman said that the bike was last seen in her yard on May 28;
1:32 p.m.: vandalism, North Road, a contractor called to report vandalism at a North Road construction site, the responding officer reports the caller said that over the weekend graffiti was spray painted on windows of the building under construction as well as on both interior and exterior walls and on heavy equipment at the site, a locked door had been kicked in and a powdery black substance was scattered on the floor;
1:46 p.m.: animal complaint, Russell Road, a caller reports locating two beagle dogs in the roadway, the animal control officer was notified and reports the two young male beagle dogs were transported to the Westfield Animal Shelter;
1:55 p.m.; larceny, Honey Pot Road, a caller reports her city owned rubbish receptacle was stolen, the woman was referred to the DPW for replacement;
2:39 p.m.: larceny, East Main Street, a resident came to the station to report his wallet was stolen form an East Main Street restaurant, the responding officer reports the man said that after he left the restaurant he realized that he did not have his wallet but when he returned to the restaurant a thorough search did not reveal it;
2:44 p.m.: animal complaint, Westfield Animal Shelter, 178 Apremont Way, the animal control officer reports a woman came to the animal shelter to surrender a brindled white pit bull dog she reportedly found in West Springfield near the Westfield border;
5:24 p.m.: larceny, East Mountain Road, a caller reports she found that on-line access to her checking account was restricted because her password had been changed, the woman said that when she gained access to the account she found that one of the checks in a checkbook previously stolen from her purse had been cashed for about $500, the case was referred to the financial crimes unit of the detective bureau;
11:30 p.m.: disturbance, East Main Street, a caller reports that her former boyfriend smashed a window of her vehicle, the responding officer reports the woman said that her former boyfriend called her and insisted that he was going to her residence in Agawam so to forestall him she said she would meet him in Westfield, the woman said when she met with the man an argument developed and he punched and broke the rear window of her vehicle and a tail light, the officer reports he spoke with the man who acknowledged breaking the window but said he did not know how the tail light was damaged.
