HOLYOKE – Sherrill D. (Haon) Hathaway, 85, died Wednesday March 13th, 2024 in Holyoke Medical Center. She was born in Pittsfield, MA on April 20th, 1938 to the late Lester and Shirley (Kemp) Haon.
She grew up in Dalton where she met her husband Harold (Skip) Hathaway. They settled in Westfield for several years where they raised their family and made lasting friends. A few years after Skip passed away, Sherrill found a loving partner, John Sevigne, who she spent the last 17 years together living in Holyoke. Sherrill enjoyed a long career as a hairdresser, a teacher at Kay Harvey and director at LaBaron Academy. She volunteered at the Southwick Food Pantry and Noble Hospital gift shop. She also served her community on the Zoning Board in Westfield. She thoroughly enjoyed painting, crafts, visiting grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends and family. She also enjoyed watching the Red Sox.
Sherrill leaves her partner John Sevigne, Sr. of Holyoke, her daughter Terri L. Hathaway of Springfield, her son Scott D. Hathaway of Westfield and Michele C. Hathaway of Brimfield, five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sisters Beverly Fahey and Marilyn Cady.
