Dolores Marie Wilkowski–Jahsman

WESTFIELD – Dolores Marie Wilkowski-Jahsman, 85, (1940-2025) of Westfield, MA passed away Wednesday, December 31st at Vantage Health and Rehab in Westfield. Dolores was born on December 21st, 1940, to the late Walter Adam Wilkowski and Agnes Elizabeth (Kopera) Wilkowski in Syracuse, NY. In 1974 Dolores and her family relocated to MA, however she always considered Upstate NY “home.”

In Dolores’s younger years she was an excellent hairdresser and prided herself on that ability. Dolores was an avid Syracuse University (Syracuse Orange), Dallas Cowboys, and New York Yankees sports fan. Dolores loved to ride her bike and swim. Dolores also enjoyed walking, especially as a volunteer to walk dogs at a local animal shelter. Dolores had a beautiful singing voice, the family enjoyed listening to her sing Christmas carols as well as many other songs she sang so beautifully. Years ago, Dolores was picked out of a crowd and called up to the stage to sing at a fair with a very popular band, she remained on that stage the rest of the night! The band loved her and so did the crowd, which was evident with the clapping, cheering and whistling; she was so proud of that unforgettable experience!

Dolores will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family. Dolores is survived by her two loving children, daughter Sherri (Jahsman) Alamed and her husband John of Westfield, son Alan Jahsman and his wife Penny of Westfield, two grandchildren, Cam and Derek Alamed. Also not to be forgotten are her furry grand-dogs.

Dolores was predeceased by her former spouse Jerry L. Jahsman and her brothers Walter R. Wilkowski and Frederick C. Wilkowski, Sr.

A special thank you to the Staff at Vantage Health and Rehab of Westfield for their wonderful love and support over the past year, as well as the Harmony Hospice staff for their care.

A private burial service will be held at Assumption Cemetery in Syracuse, NY in the Spring. In lieu of a service, donations can be made in memory of Dolores Marie Wilkowski-Jahsman to one of the following charities: Alzheimer’s Association, NYC – Second Chance Rescue, Shriners Hospitals for Children or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of RI.
