Michael Raymond Favreau

WESTFIELD – Michael Raymond Favreau, 64, (1961-2026) passed away on Thursday, June 18th, 2026, at Westfield Rehabilitation and Health Care, after a brief illness.

Michael was born on September 5th, 1961, in Springfield, MA, to Raymond and Ann Favreau. Michael graduated from Agawam High School, Class of 1980, and later earned an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science from Holyoke Community College.

Michael was a train enthusiast and enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He often spoke of fishing the Quabbin Reservoir as a kid with his father and grandfather.

Michael is well known and respected around the World as a General Class licensed handheld radio operator known by his handle N1LZF (Number 1 Led Zeppelin Fan). Michael contacted all 50 states and a countless number of countries throughout his 34+ years as an operator.

Michael was a member of MTRA (Mt Tom Repeater Association) and HCRA (Hampden County Radio Association).

Michael is predeceased by his father Raymond Favreau.

He leaves his wife of 22 years Ann M. (La Fleur) Favreau of Westfield, MA, his son Joshua Favreau of Litchfield, ME, his brother John Favreau of Warren, CT, his sisters Ann Marie Walker and her husband David of Feeding Hills, MA, and Maryellen Brush and her husband Ed of Springfield, MA, his friend and fellow handheld operator Bryan Torres, several nieces and nephews, along with many other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m.– 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 9th, 2026, at Westfield Funeral Home, 4 Princeton Street, Westfield, MA 01085. A funeral home service will be held at 2:30 p.m. followed by burial in Springfield Street Cemetery, Agawam, MA.
