Ann Ruth (Whipple) Thompson

SOUTHWICK – Ann was born in Ludlow MA. She is predeceased by her husband Newton Thompson, Jr., her father Burton Whipple, her mother Aina West Whipple, her brother Russell, and her sister Evelyn. Ann is survived by her sisters Marilyn, Joan, Jean, Sylvia, and her brother Burt (Sonny). Ann also leaves her four children: Selina (Tony), Tami (John), Shawn (Kris), and Cheryl (Joe). Ann had nineteen grandchildren and many sweet, great-grandchildren.
Ann had a smile that lit up the room! She wore her beautiful heart on her sleeve. It brought her great joy to acknowledge others through cards and her loving acts of kindness.
We will celebrate Ann on Tuesday, August 11th, 2026, at Westfield–Avalon Funeral Home, 4 Princeton Street, Westfield, MA 01085. Family and friends are invited to gather for a period of visitation from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., followed by a funereal home service at 11:30 a.m.
A celebration of life and committal will happen at a date to be determined.
