WESTFIELD – Joseph Edward Tucker, 88, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at Noble Hospital in Westfield. Born in Springfield, MA, on April 13, 1924, son of the late John and Mary (Hession) Tucker, he was a longtime resident of Surrey Rd., in Springfield before moving to Westfield in 1993.
Joseph was the beloved husband of 41 years of the late Margaret (Teehan) Tucker who passed away in 1992. He was co-owner of Walnut Auto Trim in Springfield and later worked at the Facilities Department at Springfield College. Prior to Walnut Auto Trim and Springfield College, he worked for the former Leader Chevrolet in Springfield and Central Chevrolet in West Springfield. He was a longtime communicant of Holy Cross Church in Springfield.
Joseph is survived by his three loving and grateful children, Annemarie Tucker of Springfield, John E. Tucker and his wife, Robin Budryk, of Manchester, NH, and Theresa M. Tucker of Springfield; three grandchildren, Max, Riley and Chandler. Besides his parents and his wife, he was also predeceased by his two brothers, Edward and J. Raymond Tucker
Funeral services for Joseph will be held on Friday, September 14th, beginning at 9:00 a.m. from Hafey Springfield Chapels, 494 Belmont Avenue, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, 221 Plumtree Road, Springfield. Burial will follow immediately after the Mass at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Springfield. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 13th, from 3:30-7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
