12:02 a.m.: well-being check, Elm Street at Chapel Street, a patrol officer reports he investigated a man seen lying on a bench and noted an odor of liquor and other symptoms of alcohol intoxication, the man had earlier been to Noble Hospital for alcohol-related treatment but left without being discharged, the man said that since then he had consumed additional beer, the man’s mother said that she was unable to deal with him in when intoxicated and he was placed in protective custody;
12:43 a.m.; disturbance, Mechanic Street, State Police relay a report of a domestic disturbance in progress, the responding officer reports the resident said that her boyfriend was intoxicated and no longer welcome, the officer reports the man was argumentative and uncooperative, the man said that he could go to his mother’s home in Springfield but she would not be unable to come for him so he would have to walk, the man was placed in protective custody;
3:30 a.m.: animal complaint, North Road at Russellville Road, a caller reports two cows at large near the road, the responding officer reports that two cows were found in the middle of the roadway and a calf was on the side, the officer eventually found that the cows are housed at a Russellville Road address although they are owned by a Montgomery resident, neither party could be reached and the bovines were eventually returned to their pasture, the animal control officer was asked to speak with the property owner in regards to fence repair and contact information for the file;
6:33 a.m.: assist other agency, Grandmothers Garden, Smith Avenue, a caller reports a water pipe burst in the garden, the responding officer reports that an underground water pipe apparently has burst, the water department was notified;
11:29 a.m.: larceny, East Bartlett Street, a resident came to the station to report that her wallet was stolen, the responding officer reports the complainant said that between 7 p.m. and midnight she hosted a gathering of fellow Westfield State University students and at some time during the evening her wallet was stolen from her pocketbook which had been on her bed with several others which were not disturbed, the woman said that the wallet contained jewelry and personal documents;
11:38 a.m.: larceny, The Willows Apartments, 19 Lockhouse Road, a resident came to the station to report that property was stolen from his home, the responding officer reports the complainant said that on Saturday he and his wife took their dog for a walk about 1:30 p.m. and left their apartment unlocked until they returned about a half hour later, the man said that they subsequently discovered that two cell phones, loose change and his wife’s medications had been stolen;
12:51 p.m.: breaking and entering, Danek Drive, a resident came to the station to complain that property was stolen from her vehicle, the responding officer reports the woman said that she arrived at Danek Drive about 10:30 a.m. and visited a relative until she left about 11:40 when she found that her vehicle had been entered and the purse she had left on the front seat was missing, the woman said that entry was made via an open rear window, the purse was reported to contain about $300 in cash as well as negotiable documents;
1:08 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Notre Dame Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle was found to be unregistered and was towed to the police impound yard;
1:12 p.m.: larceny, Union Street, a resident came to the station to complain that her business has received checks from two separate clients which were not paid due to insufficient funds, the responding officer reports that the woman said she has spoken with both clients and promises were made but she has still not been paid, the case was referred to the financial crimes unit of the detective bureau;
5:20 p.m.: vandalism, Raymond Circle, a caller reports someone used his hot tub again and put grass in it, the responding officer reports the resident said that this is the second such incident, no damage was reported and the officer offered advice to safeguard the complainant’s yard and property;
7:24 a.m.: suspicious person, Southampton Road, a community policing officer reports he observed a person he believe to be the subject an outstanding warrant was a passenger in a vehicle seen operating on Meadow Street, the officer reports he followed the pickup truck and a check revealed two warrants, the officer followed the vehicle until it parked at a Southampton Road apartment complex where he confirmed the identity of the passenger, Isac Robert Hernandez, 19, of 50 Southampton Road, was arrested on the two warrants;
9:18 p.m.: larceny, United Church of Christ Second Congregational, a caller reports a larceny from his vehicle, the responding officer reports the caller said that he was loading property from the church into his vehicle and was inside for about five minutes, the man said that when he returned to his vehicle he found that a camera was missing.
