The woman who is posting a reward has every right to do so. This money may entice someone to come forward. If it does not, then any money she gets will go to the local cat shelter. I’m not sure if that was posted here, I saw it on Facebook: “Justice for Thomas”. Regardless of when the bullet entered the cat, someone shot him. I believe that is against the law. The broken leg, (again, I read on Facebook,) which was hanging when the cat crawled home, was from a blunt force. With no other injuries, like scratches or blood, one could assume someone kicked or hit the cat. This person lives on a dead end street. How hard would it be to figure out who did this? Posting a reward is smart. Maybe someone saw something or told someone and then someone will come forward. On her page there was an outpour of people (many from all over the U.S. and other countries) sending their condolences and sympathy and also asking where they could send money to help. I’m sure there were hundreds of dollars in vet bills just from the visit when her poor cat had to be put down because he was in excruciating pain. She is not asking for money for that either. She is DONATING any money she gets. In the end I’m sure it will be all the money because sadly there are many people who think it’s ok to hurt animals, or blame the owner or turn their heads instead of doing the right thing. Many people like the person who wrote in to the PulseLine speaking on this matter, to you I say: Shame on you!
If some people took the time to check the papers their children have brought home from school, they would have found a paper that would allow their child(ren) to stay for the full school day during the 10 professional development days that the teachers will be attending. School is not a place where you drop your child off so you can go to work. If you are under the impression that school doubles as a sitter for your child(ren), you really need to open your eyes. They are there to learn. If teachers learn more, kids will learn more. How dare anyone question WHY these 1/2 days are important!! And shame on the person who told the PulseLine that they wanted a detailed report of what takes place on these days, and also wanted to complain that they will need to take time out of their workday, to accommodate these hours. IT’S 10 DAYS OUT OF THE SCHOOL YEAR!!! My lord, make arrangements. Better yet – instead of writing to the PulseLine to complain, look in your kids’ backpack and see what ya find… seriously.
I can’t believe the number of police officers I see committing traffic violations while on duty: going through red lights, speeding, not coming to a stop before making a right on red… I saw one who parked his police car next to a fire hydrant while doing his banking. Speeding by Tommy D’s and Fired Up on a Friday night when people are walking between the two without a care for public safety. If I did any of that, I would have more tickets than I could pay. They are breaking the same traffic laws that they ticket us for. They should be setting an example. The badge does not give them a right to break the same laws that they are supposed to enforce.
