Pvt. Brandon F. Hills, 20, of Westfield graduated from United States Marine Corps Boot Camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, on July 20, 2012. Pvt. Hills successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training at MCRD Parris Island as one of 37 recruits in Training Platoon 1050.
While in basic training, Pvt. Hills finished as platoon high shooter (331). Following ten days home on leave he reported to North Caroline for Military Combat Training. Pvt. Hills successfully graduated August 20, 2012.
Pvt. Hills is currently attending Ft. Leonard Wood for Military Police Training. He is the son of Brian and Lynn Hills of Westfield, the grandson of Robert and Carolyn McLean of The Villages, Fla., and Bernie and Toni Hills of Westfield. He is the great-grandson of Blanche McLean of Westfield. Pvt. Hills is a 2010 graduate of Westfield Vocational High School.
