1:05 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating at a high rate of speed and stopped the vehicle, the officer reports he observed nine full cans of beer in the vehicle which the passenger, who was found to be younger than the legal drinking age, claimed, a city ordinance violation citation for begin a person younger than the legal drinking age in possession of alcohol was filed;
2:28 a.m.: officer wanted, Noble Hospital, West Silver Street, a caller from the hospital’s emergency department called to request that an office take custody of narcotics found in the possession of a patient, the responding officer reports he took custody of 65 packets of heroin and three hypodermic needles which had been found by hospital staff while treating a patient, the patient remained at the hospital for treatment and a criminal complaint for possession of heroin was filed;
6:44 a.m.: fire, Noble Hospital, 115 W. Silver Street, a caller reports a fire alarm, the responding firefighters report a fire in the electrical room of the hospital was extinguished, there was no smoke damage due to the isolated location, hospital employees shut down the affected equipment and reset the system;
7:27 a.m.: vandalism, Stanley Park, 400 Western Ave., a caller reports vandalism at the park, the responding officer reports the caller said that a bulletin board and a stonewall were damaged overnight, the cost of the damage was estimated at $950;
8:12 a.m.: larceny, Springfield Road, a caller from a Springfield Road car dealership reports tires were stolen overnight from a vehicle on the lot, the responding officer reports a vehicle was found on blocks and all four wheels had been removed;
8:35 a.m.: found property, Klondike Avenue, a resident came to the station to surrender a wallet reportedly found near the entrance of the Arbors Trailer Park, the responding officer reports he was able to return the wallet to its owner;
8:58 a.m.: fire, Main Street, a caller reports flames were seen coming for the back of a vehicle operating on Main Street, dual response dispatched, the responding officer reports the operator and her children had safely exited the vehicle prior to his arrival, the responding firefighters extinguished the fire;
1:16 p.m.: found property, Westgate Plaza, East Main Street, a caller reports she found a wallet in the parking lot, the responding officer reports he took custody of the wallet and identified the owner, the wallet was returned to the owner who said the contents were intact;
1:21 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street at Franklin Street, a detail officer requests a traffic bureau officer for a motor scooter operator who has been detained after the detail officer observed the operator riding the scooter without a helmet, the responding officer reports the operator is unlicensed, the scooter was removed to the police impound yard;
1:38 p.m.: animal complaint, Meeting House Commons, Main Street, a caller reports three raccoons are trapped in a rubbish receptacle, the responding animal control officer reports the raccoons were removed from the bin;
2:44 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street at Orange Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a southbound vehicle operating with an expired inspection sticker, a passenger was found to be the subject of an out-of-state warrant, Cesar A. Adorno, 29, of 10 Ford Ave., was arrested on the fugitive from justice warrant;
2:52 p.m.: fire, Taylor Avenue, a caller reports a burning complaint, the responding firefighters report the resident was advised of the pertinent regulations and extinguished his fire;
4:20 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, a traffic enforcement officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle was towed;
5:24 p.m.: identity fraud, Parker Avenue, a resident came to the station to report an incidence of identity fraud, the responding officer reports the woman said that a change of address had been filed on-line without her knowledge or consent with the post office changing her address to a Maryland address;
5:37 p.m.: larceny, Granville Road, a resident came to the station to report identity fraud, the responding officer reports the complainant said that several hundred dollars had been withdrawn from his bank account in person, the case was referred to the financial crimes unit of the detective bureau;
8:10 p.m.: larceny, Franklin Street, a caller reports he went into a package store and exited to find that his vehicle had been stolen, the responding officer reports the man was provided a courtesy transport to a Wildflower Circle address, the officer reports the man’s car was subsequently found in a municipal parking lot, the vehicle was locked and the keys were delivered to the man’s wife;
11:22 p.m.: noise complaint, Mechanic Street, a caller reports a large college aged party, the responding officer reports 40-45 persons were dispersed, the landlord was notified;
11:32 p.m.: noise complaint, Washington Street, a caller reports a large college aged party, the responding officer reports 40-50 person were dispersed, three tenants were advised of the possible consequences of additional similar calls.
