WESTFIELD – Richard G. (Dick) Wilson, 93, passed away Friday, November 3, 2012 at the Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke. Born in Westfield on July 24, 1919, he was the son of the late Stanley and Yvonne (Mercier) Wilson.
Dick was a lifelong resident of Westfield and attended Westfield High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran honorably serving his country during WW II. Dick was a machinist working for Stanley Home Products until he retired. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Westfield. Dick was an avid golfer and a former member of Tekoa Country Club. He also loved bowling participating in the Stanley Home Bowling League.
Dick is survived by a daughter, Judith Kolios and her husband Donald of Billerica, MA; two grandchildren, Richard MacLeod and his wife Susan, Kimberly O’Leary and her husband Daniel, all from Billerica, along with four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Dick was predeceased by his first wife, Carmella Abatiell in 1973; his second wife, Claire T Carlin in 2004; a brother, Paul Wilson, and two sisters, Gertrude Marge and Rochelle Kaeppel.
A funeral of Christian Liturgy will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at St Mary’s Church, Bartlett Street, Westfield at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St Mary’s cemetery also in Westfield. A calling hour will precede the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Robert E. Cusack Funeral Home, 94 Main Street, (Route 20), Westfield.
