SOUTHWICK – Luciano “Lou” Lalli, 63, of Southwick, MA, died Friday in his home. He was born on June 7, 1949 in Castiglione Messer Marino, Italy to the late Eleanora (Verna) and Francesco Lalli.
Lou came to the United States through Ellis Island in June of 1956. He graduated from Springfield Tech HS before receiving an honorable discharge from the United States Coast Guard. He retired from Dalene Flooring of South Windsor, CT after 30 years of dedicated work as a carpet mechanic and was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Southwick.
He enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors, especially at the Congamond Middle Pond boat launch and at his camp in Vermont. He also enjoyed telling stories, playing his harmonica and whittling wood, and was a member of The Suffield Sportsman’s Club in CT for many years.
Lou was very proud of his three children, his daughter, Desirée Kleykamp and her husband Tyler of Manchester, CT, his daughter, Anita Bage and her husband Bradley of Southwick, MA; and his son, Seth Lalli of Southwick, MA, as well as his three grandchildren; Max Kleykamp of Manchester, CT, and Memphis and Marylou Bage of Southwick, MA. He is also survived by his siblings, Fr. Anthony Lalli of Holliston, MA, Arnaldo Lalli of Springfield, Frank Lalli and his wife Janet of Feeding Hills, and Remo Lalli of East Longmeadow; sister-in-law, Christine (Decoteau) Lalli of Springfield; brother-in-law, Mark Gervais of Woodland CA, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by the love of his life, his loving wife of 27 years, Tina (Gervais) Lalli, as well as his brothers, Michaelangelo and his wife Margherita (Piccirilli) Lalli, Natale Lalli, and Sergio “Bruno” Lalli, and his parent-in-laws Leon Gervais and Lillian (Slater) Gervais.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. from the Southwick-Forastiere Funeral home, 624 College Highway, Southwick, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Sheep Pasture Road, Southwick, MA. Burial in New Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 6th from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
