12:45 a.m.: disturbance, School Street, a caller reports a fight, the responding officer reports he arrived to find 15-20 persons watching two men fight, the combatants were separated and the officer reports the one party said that the altercation began when he attempted to intervene when the other man was involved in a disturbance with a female party, Luke J. Smith, 20, of 2 Grace Terrace, Medway, and Dylan J. Fitzpatrick, 21, of 3 Barbara Jean St., Grafton, were each arrested for disorderly conduct;
2:11 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Little River Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired and it was towed to the police impound yard;
11:09 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired and it was towed to the police impound yard;
11:22 a.m.: suspicious activity, St. Paul Street, a caller reports finding the remnants of a “bottle bomb” on her front porch, see story in the Monday edition of The Westfield News;
1:05 p.m.: fraud, Old Farm Road, a resident came to the station to report anomalies in his credit report, the responding officer reports the man said that he has been advised of an attempt to open a credit card account with his information and an attempt to open a telephone account in his name in Africa, the man said that even though he has not suffered a loss he would like these incidents documented in case of future problems;
3:33 p.m.: larceny, Cherry Street, a resident came to the station to report a larceny, the responding officer reports the woman said that her daughter took her debit card for a $600 spending spree before returning it to her purse, the woman was accompanied by her daughter who admitted her actions, the woman said that she wants to pursue criminal charges but officer reports that since the woman was reimbursed by her bank for the unauthorized purchases the bank is the victim and charges may be filed after an investigation by the financial crimes unit of the Detective Bureau;
5:36 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a traffic enforcement officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
6:00 p.m.: fire, Russell Road, a patrol supervisor reports he was advised of persons near the river with a bonfire, the responding officer reports he found two persons sitting around a campfire enclosed in a metal drum, the parties agreed to extinguish the fire and leave the area;
6:21 p.m.: assault, St. Paul St., a patrol officer reports he was flagged down by a person who said that he had been assaulted, the officer reports the victim had visible minor injuries to his head and said that he had been assaulted by an unknown man for no apparent reason, the officer reports a search of the area did not yield a suspect;
9:52 p.m.: larceny of pizza, Lewis Street, a caller reports he delivered a pizza but was not paid, the responding officer reports a search of the area did not reveal a person matching the description of the man who took the pizza and no record was found to match the telephone number provided when the pizza was ordered;
10:31 p.m.: disturbance, Mechanic Street, a caller reports a large party, the responding officer reports the resident had about 25 guests at a bonfire, the fire was extinguished and the gathering was dispersed;
11:02 p.m.: liquor law violation, Franklin Street, an officer reports city ordinance violation citations were issued;
11:53 p.m.: liquor law violation, Franklin Street, a community policing officer reports city ordinance violation citations were issued;

12:10 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Little’s Court, a patrol officer reports he stopped a vehicle with a defective headlight and observed an odor of burnt marijuana, when asked, the operator surrendered a small amount of marijuana and a pipe, a city ordinance violation citation was issued;
12:53 a.m.: liquor law violation, Thomas Street, a community policing officer reports two city ordinance violation citations were issued;
12:55 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Main Street at Cherry Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating at a high rate of speed and used radar to confirm it was traveling at 54 mph in a 35 mph zone, the vehicle was stopped and the operator’s license was found to be expired, Maximillian Clark, 23, of 33 Washington St., was arrested for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speeding;
1:05 a.m.: vandalism, Washington Street, a patrol officer reports he observed two persons and one was pulling down a street sign, the officer approached and identified one of the young men but when he asked the other for identification the man fled on foot, the man was chased down, handcuffed and placed in the rear of a department pickup truck but when the officer turned his attention to the first man the handcuffed man again fled on foot, when officers caught up with the man he kicked and head butted the officers before he was subdued with the use of a chemical irritant, Michael Thomas Doyle, 20, of 58 Arnold St., was arrested for vandalizing property and for resisting arrest, the officer found the first man had also fled but was found in a nearby apartment, no charges were filed;
3:17 a.m.: disturbance, Elizabeth Avenue, a caller reports a family member is intoxicated and hitting her boyfriend, the responding officer reports the female party was obviously highly intoxicated and her boyfriend said that he did not believe she was hitting him intentionally, the woman was placed in protective custody;
6:10 a.m.: disturbance, Norton Street, a caller reports her brother is intoxicated and threatening her, the responding officer reports he found a sibling argument and the male party was obviously highly intoxicated, the man was placed in protective custody;
7:24 a.m.; animal complaint, Westfield Sportsman’s Club, 95 Furrowtown Road, a caller reports two bucks had entangled their horns and one appears to be deceased, the environmental police were notified;
8:52 a.m.: breaking and entering, Joseph Avenue, a caller reports his vehicle was broken into and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that he parked his unlocked car in his driveway about 11 p.m. and in the morning found it had been entered and the rearview mirror, front grill, computer module and spare tire had been stolen;
11:43 a.m.: animal complaint, Wood Road, a caller reports a pair of foxes have been in his yard acting oddly for 2-3 hours, the responding officer reports the foxes appeared to be sleeping until he approached whereupon they fled into a wooded area;
11:57 a.m.: suspicious activity, Broad Street a caller reports finding a bottle inside a bag near a building and fears it may be a “bottle bomb”, the responding officer reports the bottle appears to contain urine;
12:29 p.m.: vandalism, Little River Road, a caller reports his tractor trailer unit was vandalized, the responding officer reports the caller said that the rig had been parked near the edge of a corn field next to a combine but an unknown person was able to start it and drive it into the field where the trailer got stuck, both mirrors and the headlights had been smashed and the registration plate was stolen, the case was referred to the detective bureau;
1:19 p.m.: larceny, East Main Street, caller reports a male party has been detained for shoplifting in a home improvement store, the responding officer reports the employee said that a female party was observed filling a cart with merchandise which she handed off to a male party who attempted to make a return without a receipt, the employee said that when the man produced identification he was found to have shoplifted in other stores of the chain previously and his return was denied, Michele Marcucci, 38, of 2133 Third Ave., Watervliet, N.Y., and Brien Demartino, 36, of 942 State St., were each arrested for attempting to commit a crime, larceny of property valued more than $250;
2:26 p.m.: liquor law violation, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports he observed four juvenile youths behind a building and one was holding a quart bottle of beer which he attempted to hide when he saw the officer, the parents of the boys were notified and took custody of their children;
6:58 p.m.: larceny, Elm Street, an employee of a drug store called to report a person stole baby formula from the store, the responding officer reports an employee said that a man put 5-7 cans of formula in a bag and left the store, the employee said when an attempt was made to confront the man he fled on foot, a search of the area did not reveal a suspect;
7:20 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, main Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired and it was towed to the police impound yard;
10:07 p.m.; motor vehicle violation, East Main Street at Little River Road, a patrol officer reports a routine check of a vehicle seen operating revealed that the owner’s license had been suspended, the vehicle was stopped and the operator was found to be the owner, Brandon N. Simmitt, 23, of 19 Robinson Drive, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard.
